INDIVIDUAL AND COUPLES COUNSELLING AND THERAPY IN WORTHINGWelcome to my website. I hope that you will find it easy to follow and informative.
Location:My Worthing practice is based in the centre of Worthing. A five to ten minute walk from Worthing Railway Station it also makes it an easy option for commuters from Brighton and West Sussex. It is also within easy reach of Southwick, Shoreham-By-Sea, East Preston, Ford, Littlehampton, Arundel, Ferring, Chichester, Pulborough, Storrington, Horsham and Bognor Regis.
Experience:I have been working with individuals, couples and groups since 1999. Over the course of the 10 years that I have been practising I have worked with a large number of individuals and couples with varying and wide ranging issues in groups as well as individual sessions. Go to
"About Kate" for more information about me.
Issues coveredI am experienced in working with a wide range of issues such as general depression, high levels of anxiety, relationship issues, difficulties with food, body image concerns such as curing obesity, fertility issues, death and loss, sex and sexuality, anger [difficulties with its expression and management], low self-confidence, lack of self-esteem and addiction issues. I am also an Eating Disorder Counsellor. Go to my
"How does it work?" page to find out more about the ways in which counselling and psychotherapy can help with these issues.
CouplesTo find out more about what couples counselling could do for you, visit my
"Couples" page.
Training:I trained in psychotherapy and counselling for five years at
Spectrum, a member organisation of the
UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy), graduating with a Diploma in Psychotherapy from them. I later became accredited and a fully registered Psychotherapist (equivalent to Masters level of training) with the UKCP through the United Kingdom Association for Humanistic Psychology Practitioners
UKAHPP and I am a full member of this organisation (MAHPP). I have also attended training with the National Centre For Eating Disorders (NCFED).
Information for Students:My initial training was in Humanistic (Gestalt) Psychotherapy and I have since widened my approach to incorporate some psychodynamic (analytical), dialogical (Rich Hycner, Lynne Jacobs) and psychosynthesis theory and practice. One of my core beliefs is that our relationships form our foundations. A reduced rate is possible for students of counselling and psychotherapy.
Core Beliefs:I believe that each person is unique and I draw on a number of approaches in order be as effective as possible. My aim is, at all times, to respect each of you as individuals which includes how you have managed throughout your life up to date. I hope to support you in making changes that you would like to enhance your day to day living. I also believe that we are all on a journey and psychotherapy and counselling can uncover deeply held insights and self-knowledge that can lead us towards a more authentic and enlivening day to day existence.
Fees:My fees in Worthing are: £45 for individual sessions (50-minutes long) and £55 for couples sessions (60-minutes long). Initial sessions are £15 for individuals and £25 for couples. To find out more see my
"Costs" page.
